Captain Olebogeng Tawana, a police spokesperson, said in a statement on Sunday, May 15, that a joint operation carried out by members of Provincial Organised Crime and Kimberley Crime Intelligence resulted in the arrest of the woman who allegedly conspired to have her husband murdered.
"The arrest occurred on Sunday, 15 May 2022 at the Indian Centre in Kimberley," according to the statement.
"After a week of intelligence gathering and surveillance, the team executed the arrest with the help of agents posing as hitmen." The woman allegedly wanted the hitmen to kidnap and kill her husband and promised to pay them a large sum of money after the alleged hit. "The woman was intercepted and arrested while negotiating with the hitmen."
"She is scheduled to appear in the Kimberley Magistrate's Court on Monday, May 16, 2022 on a conspiracy to commit murder charge."
