A suspended priest emerges as the APC candidate for governor of Benue

Following the adoption of the direct primary mode by the party leadership, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, who was recently suspended by the Bishop of Gkoko Catholic Diocese for engaging in partisan politics, emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Benue State on Saturday, May 28.

Peter Ojie, the chairman of the Benue State APC primary election committee, made the announcement at the party secretariat in Makurdi, the state capital, to mark the end of the two-day direct primary election process, also known as Option A4.
