Kwankwaso, who had wanted to welcome Shekarau into NNPP on Saturday, learned of Ganduje's decision and called Shekarau's Mundubawa Kano home to let them know he was on his way.
While the agenda is unknown, insiders say it could be to see if Shekarau is still on board the NNPP decampment plan.
While Kwankwaso was still expected, his advance party, which included new NNPP members Alhassan Rurum and Kawu Sumaila, was meeting with Shekarau at the time of reporting this article, according to sources.
After Ganduje's visit to Shekarau, the presidency decided to intervene in the conflict and deployed a plane to Kano to transport the two gladiators in Kano APC to Abuja for a last reconciliation meeting.
Both Ganduje and Shekarau are likely to fly out of Kano later tonight for the Abuja summit, according to sources.
