Wike, who lost the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential primary poll to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, addressed to Rivers residents on Monday after returning from the Abuja election.
Wike expressed disappointment with the election results and stated that the North should not claim ownership of the country, claiming that Nigeria does not belong to any geopolitical zone.
"We have everything we need to do whatever we want," he remarked. It is entirely up to you to be fruitful.
In Nigeria, we are unable to respond to second-class citizens. This one was simply utilised to tell them that enough was enough.
We made them not sleep, not eat, and we made them all know that there is someone who can take them on from wherever they think they are coming from.
This country does not fall within any one of the zones. It is their prerogative if people are afraid to speak up. "They just want someone they can control, someone who will do whatever they want him to do,"
I said. "I will never be a party to that; the only people who can control me are Nigerians, not the few people who want to remain in power since the military regime."
