Russia's war in Ukraine is not going as planned, according to Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and its attempt to capture the eastern Donbas region has "stalled."
He also predicted that Ukraine would win the conflict.
"Russia's war in Ukraine is not going as Moscow had planned," Stoltenberg said on Sunday, May 15, during a meeting of Nato foreign ministers.
"They failed to take Kyiv, are retreating from the area around Kharkiv, and their major offensive in Donbas has stalled. Russia is failing to meet its strategic objectives, and Ukraine may win."
Russia's President Vladimir Putin views NATO as a security threat and invaded Ukraine to prevent it from joining Nato.
