Two suspects were apprehended as anti-kidnapping agents smashed a gun-running syndicate at a Bayelsa brothel.

The Bayelsa State Police Command's Anti-kidnapping Unit apprehended two suspected members of a gun-running syndicate at a brothel in Yenagoa.

According to SP Asinim Butswat, the command's spokesperson, one Brownie Pistol loaded with eight.9mm ammunition, three expended 12.7mm ammunition, two million naira cash, and a suspected stolen Toyota Hilux 2021 model with no registration number were recovered from the suspects.

"Operators of the Bayelsa State Command's Anti-Kidnapping Unit, while acting on a tip-off on 12th May, 2022 at about 1750 hours, bursted a gun running gang at a Brothel in Ayama, Yenagoa Local Government Area," the PPRO stated.

"The suspects, one Seibo Dokubo'm' 32 years, a native of Degema, Rivers State, and one Boma Daniel'm' 45 years, a native of Patani, Delta State, wanted to procure AK-47 Riffles for kidnap purposes."
