Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of INEC, offered the suggestion on Saturday at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos.
Yakubu attended a performance hosted by Yiaga Africa and the European Union (EU) to encourage young people to obtain their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC).
The INEC chairman informed young Nigerians that the commission's decision would be made public soon.
"We have clearly heard your wishes. We will notify you as soon as possible about the extension of CVR registration.
"Please confirm that you will register, select your PVCs, and vote." "I also guarantee that your vote will be counted," he stated.
INEC acknowledged the rise in voter registration on Friday.
Festus Okoye, National Commissioner, announced the deployment of over 200 machines to South-East states, Lagos, and Kano.
Nigerians are urging the commission to extend the registration period, which is set to expire on June 30.
