Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, made the announcement while briefing State House reporters after a meeting of the National Security Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said that the government had tracked down the Owo attack's culprits and had narrowed in on the ISWAP terrorist outfit.
Security agencies have been asked to go after the perpetrators of the act and bring them to justice, according to the minister, who briefed alongside Inspector-General of Police Alkali Baba Usman.
The minister claimed that the organisation was attempting to push Nigerians against one another in order to create the appearance of an ethno-religious conflict.
He claimed the attack had no racial motivation and urged Nigerians to get together to combat the terrorists.
During the attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo on Sunday, scores of worshippers were killed and hundreds were injured.
