Gov. Akeredolu slams the APC National Chairman's proclamation of Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the party's consensus candidate as an expensive joke.

Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum, has called the APC National Chairman Abdulahi Adamu's proclamation of Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the party's presidential consensus candidate on Monday June 6 a "expensive joke."

Governor Akeredolu said in a statement posted last night that the Northern governors and their Southern counterparts agree that authority must go to the south. He claims that the party's chairman, or anyone else who holds a contrary viewpoint, does so on a personal basis.
