The names of five presidential aspirants have been given to President Muhammadu Buhari by governors who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Daily Trust reliably learned this morning.

The governors submitted the names in the early hours of Tuesday, according to a credible source.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State), Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation, and Governor Dave Umahi were among the names mentioned, according to the source (Ebonyi State).

After meeting with the President, the governors announced that they would return to the mansion to meet with the party's National Working Committee (NWC) and other stakeholders.

"In line with their position that power should migrate to the south, they chose one from the South-East, one from the South-South, and three from the South-West geographical zones," he stated.

According to him, the president is anticipated to choose from the list.

The party's presidential primary is taking place today. Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman, has selected Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the consensus candidate. The president, on the other hand, shattered this illusion.
