In Ilorin, a police officer was arrested for beating traders.

Inspector Aigbobahi Ogbemudia, a police officer assigned to the Kwara State Command's Anti-Robbery Unit, is facing an orderly room trial for attacking traders.

In a video, the cop is seen assaulting Adeleke Ridwan and his older brother, Habeeb, both of whom work as clothes dealers in Ilorin.

The victims were allegedly approached by the team for a normal check, but Ogbemudia manhandled and smacked them.

In a statement released on Thursday, June 2, the command's spokeswoman, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the occurrence, saying that the Commissioner of Police, Tuesday Assayomo, ordered the arrest and orderly room trial.

"The attention of the Kwara State Police Command has been drawn to a video currently trending on some social media platforms, in which a young man later known as Adeleke Ridwan'm' aged 22years and his elder brother one Adeleke Habeeb'm' clothes sellers in Challenge area of Ilorin, were accosted by men of the Kwara State Command's Anti Robbery team along Unity roundabout Ilorin, for a routine check," according to the

"A member of the Anti-Robbery team, identified as Inspector Aigbobahi Ogbemudia, manhandled and smacked the lads."
