On June 22, at about 9:30 p.m., the DPO in command of the Nasarawa Eggon Division was abducted while returning after overseeing the officers stationed there to provide protection.
According to reports, the kidnappers who ambushed the DPO's patrol hilux and abducted him raced into the DPO.
In a security meeting with all the local stakeholders a few days ago, the DPO expressed his desire to make sure farmers and herders enjoy a bountiful harvest this year.
According to The Nations, the kidnappers have gotten in touch with the DPO's family and asked for a N5 million ransom to free him.
A formal complaint has been made to the Commissioner of Police, according to Hon. Moses Anvah, the Overseer of Akun Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government, who confirmed the DPO's kidnapping.
