Osinachi: A court has sentenced the husband of the 'Ekwueme' singer to Kuje jail.

Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer Osinachi's spouse, has been remanded in Kuje jail by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Wuse.

Nwachukwu will be held in detention until the end of his trial, according to Justice Ngozi Nwosu-Iheme.

Despite Nwachukwu's plea of not guilty to the 23-count accusation against him, she issued the order.

Following the death of his wife, the Federal Government filed charges ranging from domestic abuse to homicide, among other things.

She granted an accelerated hearing and postponed the start of the trial until June 16 at 12 p.m.

Osinachi died as a result of suspected domestic violence by Nwachukwu.
