Senator Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, has reminded Chief Bola Tinubu, a presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), that politics does not always respect history.

Sani said this in response to Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu Kingdom, who claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari would not have won the election in 2015 without his help.

President Buhari would not have won the 2015 election without Tinubu's help, he asserted Tuesday.

"If it hadn't been for me, who led the war from the front, Buhari would not have become president," Tinubu remarked in Ogun State. He competed in the first, second, and third rounds, but lost all three times. "But I went to his home in Katsina, I told him you would contest and win, but you won't joke with the Yorubas," he stated on television. I have not been named Minister since his appearance. "I was not offered a contract." It's Yoruba's turn this time, and it's my tenure in Yoruba territory."

"Actually, Jagaban has played a key role in the emergence and success of PMB in 2015; yet politics does not always respect or understand history," Sani responded on Twitter.

Recall that President Buhari has asked APC governors to assist him in the selection of his successor.
