The suspects, identified as Muhammed Bello, 25, a resident of Sabon gari Dambo'a local government area of Borno state, Hammadu Ahmad, 20, and Umaru Isa, 20, all residents of Gada Maisaje Gombi, were said to have kidnapped one Yuguda Usman, 11 years old, and Mohammed Mohammed, 65 years old, all residents of Wushubura village Gombi, according to a statement released by the command's spokesperson,

On the basis of this, the Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, ordered swift action, and a quick response by DPO Gombi and vigilantes resulted in a beneficial outcome.
The syndicate has been terrorising communities and villagers in the Gombi and Song local government regions, according to the investigation so far.
The police chief praised DPO Gombi, his troops, and vigilantes for their quick response to the crisis, and advised other DPOs to follow suit in their respective AORs. Meanwhile, he has ordered the O/C crack squad to take over the investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He further ordered that the two fleeing suspects be tracked down and apprehended. The CP reassured members of the public of the command's unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.
