Tinubu stated that the text message being distributed at the APC Special Convention location, Eagles Square, was bogus.
The SMS messages, he said, were the work of shameless, desperate, and misguided people.
Tinubu's rejection came in the form of a statement signed by his Media Office and uploaded on his verified Twitter profile.
"We have been notified of SMS messages apparently from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, other candidates, and party officials intended at APC delegates making different fraudulent claims regarding Asiwaju and the primary process," the statement continues.
A text message purportedly from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is circulating among APC delegates at Eagles Square in Abuja, claiming that with his impending victory in the APC presidential primary and emergence as the party's presidential candidate, the APC leader has now decided on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
"This is a complete fabrication with no foundation."
"We implore the esteemed delegates to utterly disregard this."
The false text message is a ruse used by some anti-democratic groups to confuse and deceive delegates who believe Asiwaju Tinubu is on his way to victory.
"There isn't a shred of truth in any of these communications. They are lies told by dishonest, desperate, and misguided people, and they should be dismissed as such."
