When Governor Akeredolu arrived at the scene, he said the attack was the most heinous act that could occur in any society.
Apart from the attack site, Governor Akeredolu also paid a visit to the hospitals where survivors of the unjustified attack are being treated.
He was also visiting the palace of Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, the Olowo of Owo, to express his condolences to the monarch over the tragic tragedy.
Members of the state executive council, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, accompanied Akeredolu.
Bishop Jude Arogundade, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ondo, also paid a visit to the scene alongside the Governor.
"It's sad what occurred here today. There's no other way to put it. It's the most tragic occurrence! Horrific! "What we've seen in America is a kid's game compared to what's going on here," he remarked.
"To say the least, the fact that it occurred in a church is heinous. I'm depressed, and I understand why our people are depressed. Nobody will feel safe if they see or hear what happened here.
But, believe me when I say that we have a responsibility to safeguard you. About two of our security personnel were killed. It had not been a planned strike. It came out of nowhere. It's still a mystery how they got in and out.
"What has happened has come as a complete surprise to us." Do not retaliate in this case. We know what we're going to do, and you'll hear it from us. The criminals will never be able to flee.
We're on the hunt for them. And I can tell you that we will be able to obtain them. "I'm not bragging."
I'd want to convey my condolences to those who have lost loved ones in this senseless crime. This is a massive slaughter. We shall not let our people in Ondo State relax their guard. This is not going to happen again. We've gathered all of the leaders of security agencies in one place. They're paying attention to me, and I'm pressing them to take the essential actions.
This must not be repeated. We must be really cautious. I'd want to express my condolences to the Bishop in particular.
They have done a lot of damage here. It was dynamite that was used. There are blood pools all over the place.
"I've come to urge you to remain calm and allow the security agencies to handle the situation." This is a severe matter for them. Please don't try to make laws for yourself."
Governor Akeredolu, while at the palace of Olowo of Owo, said the gunmen made a mistake by invading Owo, pledging that they would not go unpunished.
"I was taken aback by what transpired. Everyone was taken aback. It was as if Owo had been chosen as a target. They made a mistake, though, since we are daring. We do not flee from wars.
We're going to battle them. "Please plead to our people not to take laws into their own hands, no matter what it takes." "The government will not sit idly by while those who perpetrated this are not held accountable," the Governor stated.
Governor Akeredolu was praised by the Olowo for his leadership, noting that it takes genuine leadership to fly into the state from Abuja only three hours after the tragedy occurred.
"I contacted you from Abuja less than three hours ago, and you are already here." That is what leadership is all about. It's awful that something like this would happen in Owo.
There has to be a reason for this. Our security agencies must look into this thoroughly so that those responsible face the full force of the law.
"No one brings battle to Owo," says the narrator. We'll do whatever it takes. The federal government, in my opinion, should be far more concerned. Those who are behind this aim to create strife in the country. The entire country is in jeopardy. We, for one, will do whatever is required of us. "I've told our youths to keep their cool," Olowo remarked.
Governor Akeredolu praised the doctors and health workers at the hospitals for their timely treatment to the terror attack survivors.
