Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, says Nigerians should "buga" for his boss for effectively representing the country in Spain.
Kiss Daniel, a Nigerian music sensation, uses the term buga to describe flaunting one's effort, success, or achievement.
In a statement headlined "VISIT TO SPAIN: LET'S BUGA FOR MR PRESIDENT," Adesina detailed his experiences in Spain with the president, including how the Nigerian leader visited with some footballers in Madrid.
One of their hosts, he claims, hailed Buhari as a man of honesty, probity, and responsibility, adding that "they admire Buhari very much in their country, and generally in the West."
"Come observe the gathering with Nigerians in Diaspora on Thursday afternoon," Adesina remarked. The President seemed to be in his element. When Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), introduced Kenneth Omeruo, a Nigerian footballer who plays professional soccer in Spain, President Buhari replied, "I know him." I see him on TV all the time, with his odd hairdo." Looool
“Omeruo congratulated President Buhari for his many contributions to the Super Eagles and presented him with an autographed football, a Leganes FC of Madrid jersey, and a Super Eagles jersey.
"I didn't play much football as a student because of my slender physique," an appreciative President informed the athlete, "but I felt safer with hockey, since I had a stick I could use to protect myself."
"President Buhari's trip to Spain was a resounding success on all fronts. Our President represented the country admirably and brought us honour. Why shouldn't we show him off? No matter what the critics say, we must 'buga' and show off our leader." (DAILY POST)
