After twice confessing to raping a 10-year-old girl and getting her pregnant, a man was charged.

The teenage victim was sexually assaulted by Gershon Fuentes in Ohio, and because the Supreme Court changed the abortion statute, she had to travel from Ohio to Indiana for an abortion.

Just hours after the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, Ohio, a state controlled by Republicans, outlawed abortion.

Fuentes was detained on Tuesday, July 12, and is now facing rape charges.

On June 22, the girl's mother reported what had happened, and Franklin County's children's services were contacted.

On June 30, the girl travelled to Indianapolis to undergo the abortion.

To prove that Fuentes was the rapist, DNA samples are being extracted from the foetus.

He was being held on a $2 million bail, according to Judge Cynthia Ebner, in order to protect the girl and because he might attempt to leave the country.

Before signing an executive order to safeguard access to abortion, US President Joe Biden discussed the situation.

Why should a 10-year-old girl be made to give birth to a rapist's child, he said. Does anyone think that the majority opinion in Ohio is that this issue should not be resolved?
