The Nigerian Armed Forces have been ordered by President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to attack and eliminate terrorists and other criminal groups.

On Thursday, President Buhari addressed the 247 Senior Course 44 graduates of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College at Jaji, which is close to Kaduna State.

The President pledged that his administration will keep giving the necessary assistance to get rid of the criminals terrorising the nation.

According to Buhari, "The Armed Forces Command and Staff College has been essential to the successes of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Senior Course 44 is just one of many programmes offered by the College to train soldiers from friendly nations' armed forces. The 247 students who are graduating today are marking a significant turning point in their lives.

After 48 challenging weeks, you have completed this course successfully, and I congratulate you all. It is especially encouraging to see international officers from other African sister nations among the graduating students. Gentlemen, I'm sure you've appreciated our friendliness during your stay with us.

You probably have noticed that, despite our diversity and difficulties, Nigeria remains one of the friendliest and most pleasurable places to travel to and stay.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria have responded admirably to the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, militancy, kidnapping, and other operations by separatists and armed groups, among others.

Recent terrorist strikes in Nigeria have shown the hallmarks of national and transnational insurgents attempting to wreak havoc in both Nigeria and its neighbours.

Your responsibility will include taking on these terrorists and insurgents, eliminating them from the planet, and restoring peace to our nations.

"This government will continue to offer the necessary direction and assistance to make sure the intended results are realised."
