In Bayelsa, police detain a prominent robbery suspect.


Keme Azorobor, a notorious suspect in armed robberies, has been detained by agents of the Bayelsa State Command's Anti-kidnapping squad.

The suspect is on the command's wanted list for a number of armed robbery incidents in Yenagoa and the surrounding area, according to SP Asimin Butswat, the command's spokeswoman, who made this announcement in a statement on Sunday, July 24.

According to the PPRO, the suspect, who is 27 years old and is from the Bomadi Local Government Area in Delta State but now resides in Yenagoa, was apprehended on July 24, 2022, at approximately 23:45 during a clearance operation on Otiotio Road.

He claimed that once the suspect was searched, a locally made pistol that was loaded with one live round was found on him.

Butswat pointed out that the suspect, along with his now-at-large companions, has admitted to the extent of his involvement in a number of armed robbery instances under investigation.

He continued, "Investigations are proceeding to apprehend his gang members and prosecute them."
