76 phones and N4.80 million in valuables are stolen by thieves in Lagos.

Kazeem Bamidele, 50, was charged with snatching several phones from unwary members of the public in the state before the Ogba Magistrate's Court in Ikeja, Lagos State.


The defendant was charged with five counts that included elements of conspiracy and theft, along with other defendants who remain at large.


The charges stated, in part, "That you Kazeem Bamidele, aka Elewure, and others still at large, did dishonestly receive one iPhone 12 pro max valued at N520,000.00 property of one Ojobaro Michael on July 9, 2022, around 10.30pm at Ajegunle, in the Ajeromi area of Lagos, in the Lagos State Magisterial District.


The defendant entered a not guilty plea to the allegations, and was granted bail in the amount of N500,000 with two sureties each pledging a similar sum. The case was postponed till trial.


In a related event, Wasiu Adele, 42, was charged in the Ogba Magistrate Court with possessing false currency and stealing commodities worth N4.80 million.


It was claimed that the defendant and other individuals who are still at large had four bogus N1000 notes and had stolen N4.80 million worth of property.
