Floods in Pakistan have received international attention thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President expressed his condolences for the sea-like flooding and called it the worst natural calamity in the history of the nation in a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.

Hundreds of highways, bridges, and other pieces of infrastructure have been destroyed by floods that have killed over 1,000 people, damaged half a million houses, and affected nearly 30 million people.

According to President Buhari, Nigerians are praying for and thinking of Pakistan and its people as they deal with this massive humanitarian crisis.

He urged the UN and other aid organisations to act quickly to help the millions of people in need of immediate humanitarian relief as well as those who lack access to food and shelter.
