Between 5:00 and 6:15 in the morning, a robbery took place on the long bridge next to the Warewa bus stop.
Abayomi, a passenger on one of the buses operating at the time, told our correspondent that many drivers left their cars on the road.
There was a robbery, and as a result, people started to flee in dread. Some people ram into other people's cars. We heard that someone was slain, and someone is laying on the ground lifeless," he stated.
Abayomi reported that the police had arrived at the robbery scene, though he was unsure of whose police division it belonged to.
Buses were turning around, so we were unable to get close. It took some time before the cops arrived, but they are presently there, he stated.
The Divisional Police Officer at the Warewa Police Station, Abdulfathai Ogunsanya, confirmed the incident and stated, "My men are currently at the scene of the crime. We are unable to confirm whether or not someone was killed because we lack a thorough report.
A few minutes later, Ogunsanya provided more details, stating, "I just spoke to the cop on the site. No one passed away, he claimed. A vehicle was damaged, and the individual who was injured is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
