In addition, Onyeagocha, the PDP candidate for the Imo East Senatorial District, charged Governor Hope Uzodimma with organising the event.
This was revealed by the former member of the House of Representatives in a statement provided the media in Owerri, Imo State, by his Special Assistant on Media, Prince MacDonald Enwere.
The PDP candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagucha, has been alerted to the recent sealing of his campaign office at No. 23 Ihugba Street Owerri by Governor Hope Uzodimma using his Chief Tug, Chinasa Nwaneri, and fully armed members of his infamous Ebubeagu militia numbering over thirty, according to a portion of the release.
The stated Campaign Office, which was undergoing renovations, was invaded and locked off on August 25, 2022, a prohibited daredevil army day.
One of the members of the frightened-looking squad told people not to approach the construction zone after being confronted by some locals because their "objective is politically motivated."
After sealing off the building, the squad that had caused innocent bystanders to flee for cover swiftly departed.
"We are well aware that such despotic shenanigan is another assault by Governor Uzodimma, who had just about a week ago sponsored a failed protest against Hon. Onyeagucha for allegedly sponsoring insecurity in Omuma, the Governor's hometown, and other places in the state. Intelligent people have concluded that Gov. Hope is only plotting to bring insecurity to the Owerri Zone.
"The Governor needs to stop manipulating the Lion's story. Gov. Uzodinma is misguided if he believes that Hon Onyeagucha will refrain from speaking out and exposing his shortcomings in state government as a result of such a pathetic bombardment. Such counsel is yet another peak of insanity.
Hon asserted that despite Uzodimma's draconian bluster and meagre Peacock "garagara," he cannot be scared.
He remarked that if Governor Uzodimma so desires, he may shut up any residences in the state that he believes to be owned by the opposition. The way the wind is already blowing in the state won't alter no matter how much intimidation and harassment are used. As usual, his pranks will be unsuccessful.
Governor Uzodimma needs to exercise extreme caution so as not to worsen the already frenetic condition of insecurity in Orlu Zone and elsewhere, which we have continued to tolerate and treat with patience. He asserted that we would not stand by as he planned and carried out insecurity in the Owerri Zone.
