In Anambra state, some people were kidnapped by gunmen who then forced them to jump off a bridge and fall on the paved bottom of a drainage ditch.

Over the weekend, the incident took place in the state's Idemili South Local Government Area in Alor.

According to reports, the victims were kidnapped along Nnobi—Nnewi Road, taken to Alor, and then thrown over a bridge over the Obiaja River.

Online video of the incident is extremely popular. One of the abductees is seen speaking about his ordeal while being interviewed by members of the Tiger Squad local vigilante group, Alor.

One of the victims identified as Benjamin Okafor claimed he was travelling in a Toyota Camry with another person to his hometown of Amichi in the Nnewi South Local Government Area when he was kidnapped at around 9 o'clock in the evening.

After some time, they were eventually hurled off the top of the bridge.

The second victim, who was injured all over his body, is also visible on the video laying still in the drainage system.

The event was confirmed by the Anambra State Police Command's spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who also disclosed that the victim had been retrieved and the body of the deceased had been placed in a mortuary.
