After President Muhammadu Buhari issued the Service Chiefs a new marching order, the bombing of terrorists' strongholds immediately followed.
In order to combat the nation's rising insecurity, the Army, Navy, and Air Force rapidly reorganised their activities, including redeploying their various top commanders.
When "Operation Show no Mercy" was launched against roaming terrorists, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, the Chief of the Air Staff, instructed the senior air personnel to make sure they used the most weaponry possible.
The terrorists are currently feeling the heat of the operation being carried out by both ground and air forces, according to reliable military officials who spoke to Daily Trust.
One of the military sources added, "We in the Air Force don't enjoy publicising our operations while they are still in progress so that we can kill all these guys at once, but I can authoritatively confide in you that they (terrorists) are already feeling the heat."
"Like I usually tell you, we merely neutralise; we don't kill. Through our airstrikes, we have successfully neutralised a large number of these enemies, particularly in the communities of Kaduna and Niger. Some of them, who escaped the airstrikes, are still evading capture. Because these enemies already pose a threat to this country's sovereignty, we have been given orders to eliminate them. We won't give up until either we defeat them or they yield to us. The operation goes on, but I won't tell you which communities will be the target of the upcoming operations so that the residents won't flee before we arrive. no turning around Enough already!
In an interview with journalists in Abuja, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Nigerian Air Force's spokesman, verified the development as well.
According to what he stated, "Over the weekend, NAF aircraft targeted a terrorists gathering at Kurebe in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State after information revealed the terrorists had gathered for a crucial conference hosted by Aminu Duniya, a Boko Haram terrorist commander.
According to reports, Aminu Duniya invited the terrorists to his enclave in Kurebe for the meeting, which undoubtedly attracted many terrorists because they arrived in huge numbers on motorbikes.
It is yet unknown whether Aminu Duniya was also neutralised in the airstrike, which was successful and killed numerous terrorists.
The locals of Kurebe have already left the nearby villages after the terrorists forced them out in 2021, hence it should be highlighted that the location is recognised as a sanctuary for terrorists.
After numerous terrorists operating in the Damba-Galbi axis in Kaduna State's Chikun Local Government Area were neutralised by coordinated joint air and ground operations, the attack at Kurebe occurred just a few hours later.
The terrorists' actions continued to make living in the area intolerable for the inhabitants. The military therefore saw a chance to surprise the terrorists when intelligence indicated that they intended to take over a nearby community.
"While Nigerian Army troops surrounded the area with a siege, NAF planes were directed to the alleged terrorists' hiding place, which was then attacked. Following the attack, several terrorists were reported dead.
