Eedris Abdulkareem, a Nigerian rapper, underwent a kidney transplant procedure successfully, according to a Monday announcement from Lakreem Entertainment, his management company.

According to a statement made by Myke Pam on behalf of the management, Eedris and his wife Yetunde, who serves as his kidney donor, are both making a full recovery.

The management also expressed gratitude to famous people and followers for standing by the pair amid their health problem.

"The management of Lakreem Entertainment officially discloses the news of the successful kidney transplant procedure on Nigerian Hip Hop Czar and activist Eedris Abdulkareem, and his most grateful donor - his lovingly loyal wife YT, some hours ago," the statement said.

All well-meaning Nigerians, both at home and abroad, as well as all of his admirers worldwide, who prayed for, attended to, reached out to, and helped this great couple during this health crisis have our undying gratitude and appreciation. May both your personal and group resources never run low. We ask that the prayers and support be continued as they gradually get back on their feet again.

"As the recovery and healing process begins for both of them, with the best that science can offer, under the ever benevolent gaze of the Almighty God, surrounded by the love and care of family, we ask that the prayers and support be sustained.

In conclusion, it is important to stress that when a situation calls for it, Nigerians truly stand head and shoulders above the competition. All that we as a People require is effective and efficient government. In fact, God is good — always! God be with us everyone.

The rapper disclosed his kidney failure and that he would need a transplant in July.
