Babatunde, who was charged with four counts of engaging in illicit sexual contact, sexual assault, and endangering life, is claimed to have committed the crimes on March 20 in the Surulere neighborhood of Ikirun, Osun state.
Elisha Olusegun, the prosecutor, claimed that after sexually assaulting the unnamed woman, Babatunde threatened to kill her if she notified anybody about the occurrence.
The victim, according to Olusegun, required a medical procedure as a result of her injuries after the occurrence.
Sections 360 and 86 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002, as well as Sections 31(1)(2) and 32 of the Child's Rights law of Osun State, 2007, were allegedly violated by the crimes committed.
Despite having his charges read, the defendant's plea was not accepted because of the circumstances of the case.
The matter was postponed until November 3, 2022 by the presiding magistrate, A. Odeleye, who also ordered that the defendant be kept in Ilesa Correctional Center.
