Shocking images of a Ukrainian soldier who was seized by Russia have been made public by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Following the UAE's assistance in arranging a prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia, the Russian government freed Ukrainian soldier Mykhailo Dianov on September 21.

Mykhailo Dianov assisted in protecting the Mariupol Azovstal plant before to his capture. After the publication of a photo in which he is smiling despite suffering a terrible arm injury inside the Azovstal steelworks during the early stages of the war, he became a trending topic in Ukraine.

According to the Russian ministry of defense, Diano claimed that he did not receive proper medical care throughout his four months in a Russian prison.

On Friday night, the Ukrainian ministry of defense tweeted;

"Mykhailo Dianov, a Ukrainian soldier, is one of the fortunate ones since, unlike others of his fellow POWs, he managed to endure Russian captivity. Russia "adheres" to the Geneva Conventions in this way. This is how Russia carries on the despicable Nazi tradition."
