APC Council: Buhari requested that we remove Osinbajo from Tinubu's campaign.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commented on the decision to remove Vice President Yemi Osinbajo from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's campaign team.

Osinbajo's name wasn't on the list of 422 men, which drew a variety of opinions.

One among those who opposed Tinubu for the presidential nomination of the ruling party was Osinbajo, an alienated ally.

However, Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation who finished second in the elections, was included in the list.

President Muhammadu Buhari requested that Osinbajo and Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, not be a part of the campaign council so they could concentrate on administration, according to Festus Keyamo, campaign spokesman, who gave the explanation in a statement on Saturday.

Our attention has been called to various rumors that suggest there may be a problem inside the All Progressives Congress (APC), as Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, our own esteemed and respected vice president, is not on the roster of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

"Nothing is more false than the facts. President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, is the Campaign Council's Chairman, just to be clear. Thus, in order to focus on national governance and government administration, Mr. President EXCLUSIVELY ORDERED that the Vice-President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, be excluded from the Campaign Council.

All of the important members of the government cannot leave their posts to participate in electioneering campaigns as a responsible Party and Government. The APC has the mandate of the Nigerian people to govern the nation on their behalf for at least another two years, until May 29, 2023, and we plan to carry out this mandate with the utmost sense of responsibility.

"We will not follow in the footsteps of those who ran the nation irresponsibly before us, and our Party is not in complete disarray like those who want to "save" the nation but are unable to effectively run their own internal affairs."
