Building collapse in Ondo community results in the death of a carpenter.

Ademola Lawrence, 52, a carpenter, was killed when a crumbling classroom at L. A. Primary School, Okitipupa in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State fell on him.

The incident took place on Wednesday, September 28, as the carpenter demolished the outdated building to make room for a new one.

According to a source, the father of four from Ode-Irele in the state's Irele local government region was working as a bricklayer when he tragically passed away.

He passed away before help could reach him, according to the source, as he attempted to tear down the decaying building.

The contract was allegedly stopped by the school's former head teacher, but the individual was forced to return to work when a new headmaster took over and renewed it.

According to the source, the man's body was found during the rumbles and taken to the mortuary of the State Specialist Hospital in Okitipupa.

Funmilayo Odunlami, a spokeswoman for the State Police Command, verified the occurrence.
