In Plateau Village, a 14-year-old girl found butchered.

Maryam Salisu, a 14-year-old girl, was discovered dead outside the Babale hamlet in the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to the deceased's relatives, Maryam's body was discovered in the ditch missing her eyes, breasts, teeth, and tongue.

She was attacked when she went to a neighbouring bush to gather wood for cooking.

As she described her final visit with her daughter and added that she had left everything to Allah, the deceased woman's mother, Fatima Danliti, found herself unable to control her tears. It's painful, but there's nothing I can do, she added. The decision is left up to the criminal and to Allah.

One of the girls present at the incident, Aisha Sani, recalled, "We were together when the man suddenly struck Maryam on the head. We began pleading with him to leave her alone since we didn't know why she deserved to be hit.

The dead, along with 12 other girls, walked to a nearby bush to collect firewood when Fatima was attacked, while the other girls fled for safety, according to Sani Babale, a local resident and former councillor of the region.
