Dr. Emmanuel Shior, the executive secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, disclosed this information on Wednesday in Makurdi at the monthly delivery of aid to internally displaced people.
Naka Road, Achusa Kucha Utebe, Gyado Villa, Judge's Quarters Extension, and portions of Nyiman were among the Benue capital's impacted areas, according to him.
Shior observed that the state's flooding in the past had not been as bad.
He confirmed that the expansion of a few camps in Makurdi, Guma, and Logo to house flood victims had received approval from the state's Committee on Floods.
He continued by saying that more than 400,000 people have been displaced as a result of recent attacks on several villages in the state.
He claimed that the state's Kwande Local Government Area provided assistance to the victims and Cameroonian refugees residing there.
The burden was becoming too much for the state government, so he made a plea to the federal government for help.
According to Shior, attackers assaulted towns, killing people, maiming others, and destroying infrastructure like stores, churches, and schools.
