PDP is mocked by an APC official in Zamfara, who calls it a party without direction.
Mallam Babangida Usman, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, has referred to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party lacking in concentration and direction.

Usman claimed that despite being one of the oldest political parties in Nigeria, the party had lost focus and direction in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST in Gusau.

He said that the party's leadership was acting unfairly and that Dauda Lawal Dare had been an honest APC supporter who switched to the party because he believed the PDP lacked a strong candidate for governor in the state.

The state party leadership was too oblivious to recognise that Dare was a banker and a businessman rather than a politician.

"The party leaders ought to have understood that politics is a numbers game. How will Dr. Dare suddenly become the party's front-runner given that he is not usually in the State to interact with the populace?

"It is very evident that there is no grassroots politician in the Zamfara State PDP chapter who can deliver or lead the party according to democratic settings," he continued.

He claims that the party in the State has been experiencing a number of issues that have resulted in allegations, denials of accusations, and suspensions.

"Many persons who profess to be party members are actually traitors who are searching for ways to ruin the party for their own personal gain."

"The fact that there is no opposition party in the State continues to be true. It is now very evident that Zamfara is an APC-only state.

Usman said that the party's crisis has sent many of its members to the APC, and he recommended the leadership of the party to get its house in order before bragging that it is the top opposition party.

Remember that since Dare became the party's flag bearer in the State, three candidates for the governorship have sued him, the party's state leadership, and INEC to have the claimed selection thrown out.
