Police kill one after stopping an alleged kidnapping plot
A plot by some kidnappers harassing travellers along the Sabuwa-Mararabar Yakawada road in the state's Sabuwa Local Government Area was thwarted by Katsina State Police Command agents.

According to sources, 30 terrorists flooded the road that day at 2.45 pm and were about to start operating when a council police unit interfered.

According to the sources, the meeting resulted in a hard gunfight between the police squad and the terrorist gang, which resulted in the death of one of the kidnapping gang members.

The terrorists' one AK-47 rifle and four motorcycles were found, according to the police.

SP Gambo Isah, the Katsina Police Command's spokesman, confirmed the development early on Thursday.

According to him, on September 14, 2022, at around 2.45 p.m., there were 30 terrorists who were riding motorbikes and carrying AK-47 weapons in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State with the intention of robbing and kidnapping people.

When the complaint was received, DPO Sabuwa Division sent a tactical team to the scene and engaged the thugs in a bloody gunfight. The crew was able to stop the terrorists from carrying out their horrific plan.

"While scanning the area, a terrorist was neutralised, and four of their functioning motorcycles and an AK-47 weapon were found. Many terrorists may have been shot and killed, or they may have fled the scene wounded. The inquiry is still open.
