The Supreme Court dismisses the
In the argument over who the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) legitimate governorship candidate in Ebonyi is for the 2023 election, the Supreme Court has postponed its decision until today at 3 p.m.

A five-member panel led by Justice Amina Augie announced on Wednesday that the decision would be made by 3 p.m. today after hearing final arguments from attorneys for the parties in the appeal filed by Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and marked SC/CV/ 939/2022.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Odii and Sen. Joseph Obinna Ogba engaged in a legal dispute over who was rightfully chosen as the party's candidate for the election the following year at the party's primaries, which were held on several times around the state.

The senator who represents Ebonyi Central Zone, Ogba, was recently named the party's candidate for governor of the state by the Court of Appeal, which has its Abuja hearings.

But Mr. Odii appealed to the highest court after being dissatisfied with the court's ruling.

After hearing from the parties' attorneys on their procedures and arguments, the five-member panel dismissed the case for judgement.
