Two men have been arrested in Lagos for allegedly raping a woman.
Two males have been detained by members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for reportedly raping a dancer, age 21, inside a 2017 Nissan Almera in Ikeja's Alausa Business District.

SP The suspects, Solomon Barry, 37, and Bright Omega, 36, were apprehended in the act around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the state police command.

The RRS officers saw the alleged rape going on when they were patrolling the Alausa Business District and stopped to examine a parked black Nissan Almera at M.K.O. Abiola Gardens Road, Alausa.

When the authorities got a closer look, they saw that the woman was unresponsive and not responding to their commands. The lady was immediately taken to RRS Headquarters for medical assistance by the authorities, where she quickly apprehended the culprits and regained consciousness.

The woman agreed to drive around the city and stay at a hotel after meeting the suspects at a club near Ikeja Shopping Mall, Alausa, according to the investigation, Hundeyin said.

Hundeyin stated that the matter was referred to the Police Gender Unit, which specialises in handling such instances, by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, acting on the direction of the Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi.
