Ogaga Kome has been detained, according to the Delta State Police Command, after he is accused of killing Hossanna Merritt, an 11-year-old kid, in the state.

According to information obtained by INFOGONG, Kome killed Merrit in his home in the Ozoro village when Merrit was testing a locally produced firearm.

The 26-year-old committed the crime on August 22, 2022, and fled afterward, but community members informed the Ozoro police station of the event.

It was learned that the state's police command issued a wanted notice for Kome and started a manhunt for him after being informed of the development.

According to reports, the police also asked the public for any information that could help them catch the suspect who was running away.

The state police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, responded to the event on Thursday by saying that Kome's relative turned him over to the police and that the inquiry was underway.

He stated, "On August 30, 2022, at approximately 1.05 pm, a kind person who is also the suspect's relative brought him to the station.

"In the meantime, Ari Ali, the state's commissioner of police, has praised the state's citizens for their assistance in reducing crime.

Additionally, the CP asked the general public to keep an eye on their surroundings and contact the police if they notice any strange people or activity.
