A South African police officer has been arrested for the double homicide of his 18-year-old girlfriend and another 24-year-old girl
Assaults on two women, ages 18 and 24, have led to the arrest of a police officer in Durban, South Africa.

Early on Friday, October 14, 2022, a violent incident occurred in Mandela Park in the suburb of KwaNyuswa, west of Durban.

According to reports, the suspect's alleged girlfriend, Njabulo Enhle Majozi, 18, was the victim.

According to the allegations, Enhle tried to flee from the police after the other woman was shot. He allegedly shot her in the yard before dragging her body back inside to stage a murder.

In confirming the event, Lizzy Suping of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) said that preliminary inquiry is underway and the officer was arrested.

Once the facts were confirmed, she promised to offer more information.

Netcare 91's Shawn Herbst reported that ambulances were dispatched to the Mandela Park area shortly after 1 a.m. due to reports of gunfire.

"A couple of shots were heard, and it was reported that two persons had been hit. Medical personnel were called to a home where they discovered two dead women, both of whom had been shot in the head. Sadly, they both had no vital signs, and paramedics pronounced them dead at the site, he said.

A murder report was filed with Hillcrest SAPS, according to Provincial Police Spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo.

"She then revealed that IPID had apprehended the culprit.

The bail hearing for the suspect is scheduled to take place at the Pinetown Magistrates court on October 17th, 2022.

Furthermore, it was discovered that the police officer was romantically involved with both ladies.
