A statement from the command's spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, made the claim on Saturday.
He claimed that when officers heard gunfire near the toll gate in Ibadan, the district police officer (DPO) assigned to the area led the way.
The statement did not specify whether or not anyone was kidnapped, however Col. Olayinka Olayanju (ret.), Commandant of Amotekun in Oyo State, told our correspondent that security personnel had stopped an attempted kidnapping.
