Akindele Opeyemi Olufemi, 32, a man who was detained at a "Stop and Search Point" by members of the command's safer highways unit, has been paraded by the Ekiti State Police Command.

When the suspect was stopped for a search, he was riding a motorcycle and carrying a bag. He initially resisted every attempt to search his bag, but the Police eventually overcame him.

He was found to be in possession of various denominations of Nigerian cash after a thorough search. When questioned, he was unable to provide a precise account of how he acquired the funds.

He stole the money from the Christ Apostolic Church Camp Ground in Ikeji, Ara-Ikeji, Osun State, according to police investigations that followed.

He admitted to committing the crime, stating that he had been a security guard for the church for two years before leaving earlier this year. As a result, he went back to the campground under the guise of a "Personal all night Prayer," made his way to the church offering vault, and stole the money.

Six hundred thousand, one hundred and fifteen naira were found among the money after counting (600,115 Naira)

The defendant will be charged in court along with other criminals who were captured by the State Authorities Command, according to the police.
