The nation I inherited has bombs going off in the cities, said Buhari
According to President Muhammadu Buhari, he inherited a nation at a crossroads with bombs going off in Nigerian cities.

In Kaduna on Thursday, Buhari made this announcement at the passing-out parade and commissioning ceremony for regular Course 69 NDA cadets.

However, he asserted that since taking office in 2015, his administration has been successful in managing Nigeria's security crisis.

The bombs were going off with a startling frequency even in our cities when this government took office in 2015, he said. We were brought in to handle the crisis.

Buhari urged the cadets to emulate the social cohesiveness they experienced at the NDA and serve as uncorruptible role models for society.

He emphasized that the cadets came of age during a time of growing threats to international security.

As junior military officers, 239 cadets—including those from sister African nations including Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Niger Republic, Chad, and Uganda—are graduating from the Academy.

Service leaders, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, the governors of Kaduna and Niger States, as well as members of the National Assembly, are among the dignitaries in attendance.
