A 28-year-old Nigerian national who stabbed his mother to death has been remanded by the UK.
Nicolas Aina, a Nigerian national, has been charged with the murder of his mother, 64-year-old Caroline Adeyelu, and the attempted murder of his sister, Angel Adeyelu, 33. Both crimes took place at the family's home in Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom.

The 28-year-old allegedly entered his sister's bedroom and repeatedly stabbed her with a knife, as reported by itv News.

Caroline allegedly entered the room after hearing her daughter scream, but the suspect lunged at her with the knife before running away from the house on Auriel Avenue.

While Aina's mom was confirmed dead at the scene, his sister was taken to the hospital and later released after being treated for her stab wounds.

Samantha Southey, a neighbour who resided next door to the victims' house, allegedly said that she heard the ruckus after the tragedy.

'I just heard some commotion last night,' she added. When I answered, the police said they had apprehended the suspect and had knocked on the door. To some extent, it's terrifying.

On Tuesday, November 1, Aina was reportedly brought before Judge Philip Katz KC at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Due in the Old Bailey Court on Thursday, he was remanded to police custody.

Superintendent Richard Vandenbergh, a detective with the East Area Command Unit, called the event "really stunning."
