Four missing schoolchildren were rescued by Nasarawa police after being held captive for 14 days.
The four remaining students taken from the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School in Alwaza, the state's Doma Local Government Area, have been freed by the Nasarawa State Police Command.


On January 20, 2023, gunmen abducted six students from a primary school. Two of the kids were freed by the police the next day, while four of them remained prisoner.


On Friday, February 3, 2023, the command's spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, announced the recent occurrence in a statement.


The children were saved at Doka village in Doma LGA on Friday, according to the PPRO, and have since been reunited with their parents.


On 3/2/2023 at around 0700 hours, a detachment of joint security operatives working with hunters recovered the four students at Doka village, Doma LGA, continuing the search to free the other four students who had been kidnapped on January 20, 2023 at LEA Primary school, Alwaza, the statement adds.


Awazi Emmanuel, Success Ogah, Dominion Alhaji, and Success Emmanuel, the victims, have been transferred to the hospital for a medical checkup and will soon be reunited with their families.


According to the police spokeswoman, Maiyaki Baba, the state's commissioner of police, praised the public for its efforts in guaranteeing the children's rescue.


Maiyaki requested citizens of the state to provide the police with pertinent information that would help them identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
